Sieve (Pharmakon) is a video installation, and a series of photographs and sculptures. Produced in the Amazon city of Manus Brazil, the project uses performance to consider various representations of both scientific and artistic realism.

One of the most remote cities in South America, Manaus is a major scientific center for rainforest research and for the study of indigenous cultures. It is also a growing manufacturing and tourist center. Sieve (Pharmakon) was filmed in the Amazon Opera, the National Institute of Amazon Research, and various locations throughout the city.

The video slows down the filming process by repetitively enacting tableaux of rehearsals for ethnographic films.
